This exclusive breakfast event will see the launch of a unique publication about valuations from a corporate finance perspective, commissioned and published by the Corporate Finance Faculty and authored by KPMG. 

With keynote speakers covering the current deal environment and trends, there will be a particular focus on the challenging topic of valuing technology businesses.

Mark Collard, KPMG will introduce the guidelines and reflect on the deal environment and emerging valuation issues.  There will also be an expert panel providing vital insight into best-practice for valuing business in deals, the considerations and motivations from both the buyer’s and seller’s perspectives and best-practice in challenging M&A markets.

The panel discussion will be moderated by John O’Brien, MSIF who has recently taken on the role of Chair to MSIF, having retired from KPMG after over thirty years advising clients on transactions including fundraising through private equity and public markets, acquisitions and disposals. MSIF has invested and leveraged over £500m to date; including in the last 5 years over 85 tech businesses

The panel will feature:

  • Paul Billingham, Partner, Knight CF. Knight CF was founded by Adam Zoldan and Paul Billingham in December 2008 with the specific aim of advising businesses and entrepreneurs in the telecommunications, media and technology (TMT) sector.
  • Mark Borzomato, Director, Spark Impact.  SPARK Impact is one of the most active investors in the UK. Our focus is building world-class businesses that offer solutions to some of the global challenges that we face. 
  • Colin Sinclair, CEO, Knowledge Quarter Liverpool, which will create a world leading innovation district and a place of discovery in science, technology, education, medicine and culture. It will also be the first location out with London for the Royal College of Physicians. 
  • Erika Rushton, Director/ Chair, Baltic Creative CIC, Erika Rushton has harnessed creativity and entrepreneurialism as a force for social inclusion, economic growth and place based regeneration across the North West. Erika is currently supporting the growth of creative clusters in Liverpool, Salford, Birkenhead, Cardiff and Wolverhampton.
