British Chamber of Commerce Turkey (BCCT) and Izmir Development Agency (IZKA) are partnering in “Turkey & More: Izmir as the new ICT Hub” conference, which will be a great platform to explore the Turkish market in general, discuss about ICT in Turkey and Izmir’s importance in the ICT sector.

Turkey is the world’s 16th and Europe’s 6th largest economy. Turkey is currently among the fastest growing markets in Europe.
Turkey is one of the world’s biggest markets with a population of 78 million and a labour force of 29 million people. Half of the population is below the age of 30. Turkey has the highest youth population and 4th largest labour force when compared to EU-27 countries.
Turkish GDP grew by 8.8%, 2.2%, 4% and 2.9% in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 respectively. The average growth rate in the last decade was 5%. Turkey’s GDP (current prices) for the year 2014 was $806bn, which rose from $231bn in 2002. GDP per capita nearly tripled since 2002, from $3,500 to $10,482 in 2014.
Within 4 hours of flying distance, Turkey has access to 56 countries and 2 billion customers in Europe, Eurasia, the Middle East and North Africa. Many global companies use Turkey as a regional hub, especially for managing their manufacturing and export activities in Central Asia, South Caucasus, MENA and Central and Eastern Europe from Turkey.
