Liv took up the reins as Chief Executive of Severn Trent in April 2014. Severn Trent is the Midlands based Water and Waste Company responsible for providing clean water and taking away dirty water to around 10m people in the Midlands area of the UK. Severn Trent is one of the three large water utilities in the UK, and is listed on the UK stock exchange. Severn Trent also has two thousand colleagues based in its international water services business.

Prior to this Liv worked at British Telecom for 12 years. Her last role was at Chief Executive of Openreach, the engineering division of BT. In her Openreach role, Liv was responsible for the delivery of one of the fastest and most ambitious deployments of fibre broadband in the world. Liv owned fibre through from strategic concept to rollout across two-thirds of UK premises, delivered 18 months ahead of schedule.

Prior to this Liv spent nine years in a variety of Sales, Service and Strategy roles within BT. This tenure included four years as BT’s Group Director of strategy & regulatory affairs and a number of roles motivating sales forces, managing call centres and leading large scale service provision and repair teams across the UK.

Before joining BT, Liv worked for Accenture, the management consultancy, from where she spent five years in the retail and high-tech practices. The projects gave her multi-sector and international exposure with projects in Chicago and Paris as well as across the UK.

Liv, 40, is originally from Harrogate in Yorkshire, and is married, with two boys. She is also a life-long Everton fan and when not watching under 9s football matches or playing board games, she loves to catch a glimpse of the “toffees”.
