Sefton Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP) consultation

Sefton Council is developing a policy to improve walking, wheeling and cycling across Sefton and we would like your opinion. The policy is called the Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan, also referred to as the LCWIP.  It shows where improvements have been identified for safer routes to schools, health facilities and other community amenities.

Comments are welcome between 23rd July and 15 September 2025 by email and with a survey on our Your Sefton Your Say consultation webpage here Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP).  Paper copies of the consultation materials and illustrated summaries are also available in Sefton Council’s libraries.

On Your Sefton Your Say you will be able to access the policy document, a summary brochure and Frequently Asked Questions.  Emailed comments should be sent to transport.planning@sefton.gov.uk.

At this stage, we are especially keen to hear:

■ Your views on the proposals.

■ Local knowledge that might help improve the proposals.

■ What would help you and others to walk, wheel, or cycle more often.

What comes next?

Following the consultation, the feedback received will be used to develop the final LCWIP prior to proposed Adoption later in 2025.
