Growing Into Defence
As the defence sector expands, so do the opportunities to develop your business to fulfil those needs. Have a strategy to grow into the defence sector is key, especially if this area new to your business.
Sci-Tech Daresbury are working in collaboration with defence sector supply chain specialists, and campus Gold Partners RTC North to deliver a morning of short introductions to areas of the Defence Sector that you should be building into your defence growth strategy.
This supportive, in-person event will welcome suppliers and manufacturers from the Northwest and beyond. Attendees will gain new insight and understanding of the defence sector landscape, the innovation opportunities, supply chain requirements, methods of compliance (think shipping and paperwork), and cyber resilience.
Each introduction will be delivered by industry active and experience relevant organisations who are engaged in supporting business to supply, pivot and grow in the defence sector.
Following the event, you will be able to ask questions and network with the presenters during a light networking lunch kindly supported by RTC North.
NOTE: This event is targeted at supporting new businesses to enter the defence sector. Relevant Business Support groups will be invited in person to ensure places remain available for businesses to attend.

The morning will combine networking for LCR stakeholders with an informal panel discussion exploring how women’s words open doors, broaden perspectives, and inspire meaningful action. By pairing IWD with World Book Day, we hope to celebrate not only women’s achievements, but also the stories that help build a more equal, informed, and inspired society.

- Natalie Reeves-Billing: Deputy Lieutenant of Merseyside, Founder of The Builder Book CIC, and Author of KQ Liverpool’s ‘Animates – Learning in Liverpool’ children’s book, which introduces the concept of innovation to primary school aged students.-
- Professor Louise Kenny: Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Head of Faculty of Health & Life Sciences at the University of Liverpool, with work resulting in >200 peer reviewed original papers, reviews and book chapters.

Reverse Pitch Event – 5th March 12.30 at the Spine, Liverpool
Following the success of last year’s Reverse Pitch Day, described as an unexpected masterclass in investment, we’re delighted to invite you to this year’s event on 5 March 2026, at The Spine, Liverpool (12:30–5:00 pm).
The event is open to any business led by Black and Ethnically Minoritised founders, including limited companies, sole traders, partnerships, social enterprises, CICs, and charities with trading income.
You do not need to be seeking investment to attend. The day is designed to help you:
- Understand different types of investment available
- hear directly from investors about what they offer and who they support
- learn how investors think and make decisions
- build confidence and relationships
Investors pitch to you, not the other way around, and the day will be hosted by Cecil Adjalo, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of the award-winning Foundervine. The day will conclude with a drinks reception, giving you a chance to talk to investors one-on-one.
