(00:58) help them all in one room so I would recommend that if you’ve been to a forum before come to the next one if you haven’t been to a forum before come to the next one I think you’ll find it’s worth coming hello I’m Barbara car and I run a business in sefon the business I run is a coaching and leadership development business that helps people to have a c do attitude usually work with leaders and their teams to help the businesses grow really passionate about economic prosperity in sefon and and so that’s why I find it um important to come to
(01:33) events like the SE and economic Forum what’s interesting about the SE and economic forum is that it combines academic Insight which is the big picture what’s happening to inflation there’s always interesting speakers some of the stuff I understand some I don’t uh but it’s just great that sefton offer the opportunity for businesses that have the heads down and are concerned about things like inflation and growth to come together and to learn and share and then they always have a sort of person Centric session as well and today’s was
(02:05) around Mery care and the Fantastic things that are happening to help grow the research components of the economy which is just great to see in here so now I can go back to my desk and to my clients with a fresh [Music] perspective hello my name is Aaron Jordan I run and manage a third generation family business called Edwards and hampson we are a joining manufacturer specializing in staircases windows and doors and we operate throughout the Liverpool region but are based within sefon today I’ve come to the uh for the first time I’ve come to
(02:41) the economic Forum um today we had a an academic presentation from someone from the bank of England who went through uh kind of interest rates inflation what the future prospects are for the the region as a whole and also the UK and what some of the uh the foreign influences are that are currently affecting us and how that could affect my business we then had presentation from someone based within the mul area talking about the the mcul Medical Center which was really fascinating we also had the opportunity to to go out
(03:07) and talk with other businesses that are here today um this has been beneficial to myself as I have for one contacted the lady behind the camera um she’s going to come out and potentially do some work for me I’ve also contacted some other companies and uh we are going to kind of mix and match and I’m going to get to see what their businesses do as well as that um through SEF and Council I have um accessed some other funding and I’ve also access some other support one of those being the growth Catalyst which was a 9month program that
(03:34) I put talk on with um other businesses um and that was really beneficial to me and I feel as though that’s Advanced my company substantially with the ability to talk and communicate with other businesses and to get in touch with the academic side of business more and use that moving [Music] forward hi I’m Shirley Hunter and I’m the operations director at base Energy Services Limited we’re based in Bole and we basically help businesses and individuals with their Journey starting at the planning permission right through
(04:11) to building regulations so that could be sap calculations energy sustainability assessments flood risk or even daylight calculations I’ve been coming to the invest Sefton events now for eight years um so I find them very useful one to make connections with networking with local businesses but also with help knowing where we can go for funding and grants also uh for the my own Journey on the management level there was free training for that and also they act as a intoduction Agency for the whole of sefon really so when we needed contacts
(04:51) with uh the Leisure industry they helped us with that also rates so I can’t really praise them highly enough um in the journey that we’ve had we’ve doubled in the number of Staff we employ now and also the turnover has trebled so that to me is in part uh to thank invest sefton for [Music] [Applause] [Music]
