General Description
The Port of Liverpool is one of Britains premier trading gateways handling over 31 million tonnes of freight a year, it moves every type of cargo by global container network, by roll-on roll-off, breakbulk and bulk shipping services, to all parts of the world.
The North West of Englands leading freight hub also offers some 5 million sq ft of warehousing, much of it within Liverpool Freeport, Britains largest and most successful free zone.
The Mersey Docks Group which owns and operates the port is currently investing 20 million in a further 860,000 sq ft of new warehousing and light industrial units, ranging in size from 500 sq ft to 107,000 sq ft.
Seventy percent of the development on the 70 acre Liverpool Intermodal Freeport Terminal (LIFT) site is up and occupied by a range of logistics, warehousing and manufacturing companies.
The site operates in a high security area scanned by CCTV cameras and guarded by Home Office approved Port of Liverpool Police, resultingin insurance premiums 60% below the national average.
This location within one of Britains major ports and less than three miles from the national motorway network gives easy access to every region of he UK.
