Introduction

Proposed redevelopment of Aintree Racecourse
Investsefton represents the business support element of Sefton Council. The team at Investsefton are there to provide help and support to businesses in the area, whether they are new inward investors or existing businesses. The aim is reasonably simple; to make Sefton an attractive and easy place to do business. This can take many forms; help finding a new property, identifying funding and providing financial assistance to smoothing the way when interacting with the council - the list goes on.
Crucial to the ongoing prosperity of Sefton is Atlantic Gateway, a major new development program will see multi million pound investments and close to 1 million square foot of new commercial and industrial floorspace being created. The team at investsefton will work with businesses seeking to locate in one of these exciting new developments, providing help and support on an ongoing basis.
Atlantic Gateway is one of eight Merseyside Strategic Investment Areas (SIAs) that have been identified as having the greatest potential for economic growth with the help of European Objective 1 funding.
Key development sites will create prime new industrial and commercial floorspace in the area. The new business and industrial parks will see varied construction, ranging from small, quality, units, through to large high quality industrial/headquarter type facilities and major new prestige office buildings.
Atlantic Gateway development managers have secured more than £10 million of Objective 1 funding, which has to be matched by other public funds. In total, with private-sector investment levered into the area, the programme will result in over £60 million of direct investment in the area over the next five years.
The programme aims to deliver over 3,000 new jobs through support for site development, town centre regeneration and access and transport infrastructure improvements.
Major existing companies and organisations in the Atlantic Gateway area include Rolls Royce, Alliance and Leicester, Johnson's Service Group, Littlewoods and the Health and Safety Executive.
