A ground-breaking Industrial Digitalisation Accelerator (IDA) has been launched at Sci-Tech Daresbury. The initiative is from Siemens Digital Industries, together with Atos and the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) Hartree Centre, and will offer businesses a practical, collaborative space to explore Industry 4.0 technologies. It is the first time that three distinct, yet complementary, experts in the field of computing (STFC Hartree Centre), analytics (Atos Codex) and IoT solutions (MindSphere) have come together and combined their expertise to offer industry the opportunity to discover new pathways to growth. The accelerator programme is offering businesses of all sizes the chance to produce proof of concepts, mentorship to help them acquire Industry 4.0 technologies like big data analytics, Internet of Things (IoT), modelling, simulation and sensor technology through the Made Smarter programme, and the opportunity to develop end-to-end digital solutions. Liverpool businesses looking to export to China – the world’s largest country by population – will be treated to a FREE workshop later this year. A new campaign has been launched to encourage employers to engage with young people. Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) has launched a new campaign to encourage businesses to make a difference to the futures of young people in Liverpool City Region. The Give an Hour campaign calls for employers and employees to offer an hour of their time to help young people prepare for the fast-changing world of work. The initiative- run jointly by Liverpool City Region LEP and The Careers & Enterprise Company – highlights that in as little as one hour, organisations can help to transform a young person’s future by bringing to life different career opportunities and providing insight about the skills young people need to be work-ready and successful in the workplace.
